I like the scratchy effect. But yes, the spine or whatever it's called is a bit odd. x3;

You are missing some of the musculature to either side of the spine in the neck, but the overall effect is interesting. If I were less spacy at the moment I'd tell you the muscle names, but I'm drawing a blank. Basically the neck has more of a trangular shap from the very inner ends of the deltoids to the base of the skull formed by a layer of muscle that goes a long way to holding the head upright along the spine as well as controling some of the tilt of the neck to either side.

Regardless, I'd have to say it looks like it was on its way to evolving into something far more abstract then a nude study. It makes me very curious as to where you would have gone with it had you not been focused for a class.

I really like it. the chiaroscuro is really nice, and I like how the shadows are really solid and hard-edged in places and looser and softer in others. very nice.

The one thing that really catches my eye as being out of place, but not necessarily wrong, is the hard shadow along the spine. it might not be, i'm definitely no expert, but it seems like with the way it's rendered that his spine sticks out very much. could be the effect you're going for though, because it does look nice.

I especially like the rendering of the folds on his neck. kudos!

Why couldn't the anarchist draw a straight line? Because he didn't have any rulers!
